Independence Angel and Chapultepec Castle

Sunday, March 22nd 2015.

 

The highlight of our scheduled tours. The meeting point will be the St Regis reception at 02:30 pm where two suv's will take us to:

 

03:00 pm - 05:00 pm Chapultepec Castle 

Entrance $64 pesos ($4.5 USD)

You're not allowed to enter with backpacks, large purses, drinks or food.

Leave your belongings at the SUV and just carry with you sunglasses, wallet, cell and camara. 

Camaras must be used without flash.

 

05:30 pm - 06:15 pm Independence Angel 

Just make sure you're quick enough to cross the street to a rotary circle. You'll have fun... 

 

6:30 pm. 9:30 pm Coyoacán Downtown and dinner.

We will make a quick walk around Coyoacán Downtown and close with a delightful dinner at the heart of this bohemian area in one of the best restaurants for autenthic mexican food in the city.

Anthropology Museum

The jewel of one of the most important anthropology museums in the world, also Mexico's most important and visited museum.

 

The meeting point will be the St Regis reception and there will be two departures:

 

10:00 am - 12:00 pm First Shuttle

10:30 am - 12:30 pm Second Shuttle

I personally encourage you to visit Coyoacan, this hip borough of the city is where I grew up and the core of my life in Mexico. It displays the colorful and vibrant arty side of the country.

 

Take the TURIBUS Circuito Sur

 

You will be able to visit :

  • Frida Kahlo's house.

  • Coyoacan downtown.

  • National Autonomus University of Mexico: The biggest and most prestiguos university in Iberoamerica. Alma Mater of: Octavio Paz (Nobel Prize in Literature 1990), Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Mario Molina (Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1995), Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Best Director 2015), Alfonso Cuaron (Best Director 2014), Carlos Slim (second richiest man in the world) and the bride: Jessica.

  • Leon Trotsky's House.

 

Monday, March 23nd 2015.

 

Take the TURIBUS Circuito Centro Historico (a panoramic official bus that tours around most importan areas in DF) at the Independence Angel (stop #6). Pay with your credit or cash on board.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Go down in the Alameda Central (stop #8).

  2. Walk in the Alameda Central to the Fine Arts Palace.

  3. Cross the avenue and keep walking through Av. Francisco I. Madero (corridor street)

  4. I HIGHLY recommend to stop at "The House of Tiles" to explore it and have lunch here. 

  5. When finish at "The House of Tiles" walk out the same door you came in and keep walking all streight to the Zocalo, visit the Cathedral and the Goverment Palace. This last ones shows Dirgo Rivera's murals.

  6. After touring, you are near two of the best mexican restaurants in the country, take advantage!!! Have your meal at the terrace of the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico with panoramic views of the city or at "El Cardenal" both of them serve mexican gourmet food.

  7. Go back to estep 1 and ride the bus to the hotel.

 

I recommend you walk within the perimeter of the Zocalo Plaza since the surrounding streets are for retailers commerce and crowded street markets.
